TATAK PEÑARANDA | Geneology | Family
Tatak Peñaranda (former TPF) is my very first web design project, inspired by my late father's vision of creating a comprehensive online family network connecting relatives across the Philippines. His passion for preserving our family's history and tracing our Spanish ancestry, which dates back to the 1830s, became the driving force behind this project.
I began developing the website in July 2015 while living in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It was also my first experience using the Wix platform, marking the beginning of my journey into web design.
Creating this website involved extensive research and collaboration. I collected historical information, family records, and old photographs, while my father traveled to various places associated with our family name, particularly in provinces such as Bicol, Nueva Ecija, Iloilo, and other parts of the Philippines. During his visits, he documented landmarks, monuments, barangays, streets, and other locations bearing our family name, sharing the photographs and information with me to enrich the website's content.
Although the project presented many challenges and, like any first project, included its share of mistakes and learning experiences, it became an invaluable stepping stone in developing my web design skills. Building an 11-page website dedicated to preserving our family's heritage was both a rewarding and meaningful experience that taught me countless lessons in design, organization, and content management.
Today, the website remains active and continues to serve as a digital archive of our family's history. It is also connected to its corresponding Facebook Group, which was founded by my late father in 2011, allowing family members to stay connected and continue preserving our shared heritage for future generations.
